Articles are around 2000 words or less, and mentioning visuals like photos helps sell queries (my successful query featured a promised photo of a giant horseradish root balloon, along with a story and recipes from the horseradish festival). Recipes are also desirable. Payment is $250 if the submission is posted on their website or $350 if used for both the website and magazine. Payment made within 30 days of publication.
